Believe it or not I do have other hobbies. In my spare time I like to go letterboxing and geocaching. What are those you ask? Well let me tell you about them. Letterboxing was introduced to me when my mom showed me an Ohio Magazine article that had an article featuring this new hobby. Letterboxing is an hunt where you use a compass and follow clues to find a hidden box. Sounds like fun doesn't it? Items needed for this hobby are quite inexpensive. You need a signature stamp (something that fits you....I actually use a pez stamp to fit my personality), a journal book, and a stamp pad. Clues are obtained from the internet. You follow the clues and attmept to find the hidden box. Once you locate the box then you stamp into the box's logbook and show that you found it. You then take the stamp from the box and stamp into your journal to log the box. Most people carve their own stamps and the talent out there is unbelievable. Well to find clues and more information check out the website at www.letterboxing.org Be sure to look in your state and see if you have an local boxes. You’ll be amazed at just how many are out there.

Geocaching is another fun game to play. You actually use a GPS system and obtain coordiates off of the internet to find hidden caches. Caches are boxes that contain little trinkets or prizes. After finding the cache, you can log into the log book and then trade items. You trade your item for something that’s in the box. Most cachers try to trade up so a cache doesn’t quickly become filled with junky items. To a kid, these caches are like treasure boxes. Imagine if this had been around when we were kids. LOL. Words cannot describe the satisfaction of actually finding the hidden cache. After arriving home you can log into the geocaching website and “log” your find. Your profile keeps track of just how many caches you have found to date. To find out more information on this, please visit the geocaching website at www.geocaching.com

Well enough about me…take a moment and look around my site. Hope you like it and if you do please stop by and let me know by signing my guestbook.
